FAQ’S
-
Our day is made up of many different moments, and while we follow a familiar and predictable rhythm, we also value flexibility. This allows us to respond to what the children need, the weather, and the overall feeling of the day. Each day, our team reflects, plans, and adjusts the routine to best support the children and one another. This helps us create a calm, responsive, and engaging environment where everyone can thrive.
Arrival and departure
Arrival and departure are meaningful parts of our day where children show growing confidence and independence. As they organise their belongings and prepare for the next part of their day, they practise important self-help skills and experience a sense of capability. These moments also strengthen relationships, giving children time to connect with peers, teachers, and families as we share our daily hellos and goodbyes. Arrival and departures involve a parent and child sign in and out procedure.
Gathering together
Our gathering times are joyful opportunities for children to share their ideas, listen to others, and contribute to the life of the group. Whether we meet as a whole group or in smaller circles, children are active participants—discussing, problem-solving, reflecting, singing, playing games, listening to stories, dancing, and moving their bodies. These shared experiences help children feel a strong sense of belonging and support them in learning how to collaborate in caring, respectful ways.
Playful environments
Play is the heart of learning at our Kindy. Our indoor and outdoor environments are intentionally designed to spark curiosity, invite exploration, and celebrate children’s strengths. Through play, children connect with nature, express creativity, test ideas, build friendships, design and construct, move their bodies, and immerse themselves in imaginative worlds. These experiences nurture children’s confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of wonder.
Meal times
Meal times are valued as rich learning moments where children practise independence, develop healthy habits, and enjoy social connection. As children explore different foods and tune into their bodies’ needs, they build positive attitudes toward wellbeing. Staff sit with children during meals, supporting warm conversations, respectful interactions, and hygienic routines.
Relaxation times
We recognise the importance of balance in a busy Kindy day. Relaxation moments—such as breathing exercises, gentle movement, reading, or resting—support children’s emotional wellbeing and self-regulation. Each day, the group pauses together for a period of calm that responds to the needs of the children, helping them feel centred and ready for further learning.
Transitions
Transitions are seen as valuable learning opportunities. Through playful routines and shared responsibilities, children practise planning, cooperation, and resilience. These moments help children feel secure as they move from one part of the day to another, strengthening their confidence and sense of agency.
